Product FAQ

What is the Sculpt + Stain Lip Liner Marker?

A lip liner and lip stain in one. Line, fill, blur it out, or go darker at the centre for a lip-blush look. It's lightweight, buildable, and wears through coffee, lunch and whatever comes after, with no waxy feel and no constant touch-ups.

What's new in Sculpt + Stain 2.0?

We rebuilt the pen from the inside out. The original used a cotton core to hold the stain, which meant you sometimes had to store it tip-down to get colour out. 2.0 swaps that for a free-flowing ink chamber with a small steel ball inside. Shake it and the stain mixes and feeds straight to the tip, however it's been sitting in your bag. It just works.

On the outside:

  • New tip: a soft, angled felt tip that follows the curve of your lips. Precise enough to line, soft enough to fill.
  • New cap: firmer, with a double seal and inner lining to keep the stain from drying out.
  • Cap rest: a small nub on the base lets you post the cap on the end while you apply, so it's not rolling around your car floor.
  • New neck: a longer, slimmer neck that looks and feels more like makeup than stationery.
How do I know if I have the original or 2.0?

2.0 has the longer neck, the angled tip, and the nub on the base for the cap. If you can hear a little ball moving when you shake it, it's 2.0.

Do I still need to store it tip-down?

No. Store it however you like: flat, upright, at the bottom of your bag. Give it a quick shake before you use it and you're good.

How long does it last on the lips?

Up to 9 hours or more, depending on your lip prep and how much you're eating and drinking.

What makes it different from other lip liner stains?

It's lightweight and comfortable, and leaves a natural-looking stain rather than a layer of product. The shades are made for everyday wear, from no-makeup days to full glam. And with 2.0, you get far more out of every pen, no tricks required.

Can I use it with other lip products?

Yes. It layers well under glosses, balms and lipsticks for extra shine or dimension.

How do I apply it?

Apply to clean, dry lips, and exfoliate any dry patches first for the smoothest finish. Outline your lips from the edges or centre, then fill in as much as you like. For a softer lip-blush look, go deeper toward the centre and blur outwards. It's a liner first, but you make the rules.

Is it cruelty-free?

We're not officially certified yet, but Sculpt + Stain is never tested on animals and contains no animal by-products at any stage of production.

I have extremely dry lips. Should I use this?

Use it with care. The stain is strong (that's why it lasts), so it can grip onto flaky patches and look uneven. Exfoliate first. Even then, results on very dry lips can vary. We recommend a patch test first.

How should I store my Sculpt + Stain?

2.0: any way you like. Just click the cap on firmly so the seal can do its job.

Original (cotton-core) pens: store flat, not tip-down, so the colour spreads evenly through the core.

I'm struggling to get colour out of my pen. Is this normal?

For 2.0, it shouldn't happen. Shake it well (you should hear the ball moving), then try a few swipes on the back of your hand to get it going. If it's still not flowing on first or early use, email support@pepprbeauty.com.au and we'll sort it.

I need help with my product. Who do I contact?
